ABOUT IMA

Some like it hot. Including us.

At Ima, we take our hot yoga seriously. Combining the precision of therapeutic yoga and the foundations of traditional yoga in a specially heated room, we offer our signature hatha-based Ima series, as well as Flow and Power Flow classes that are both invigorating and accessible. Think vinyasa yoga but…better.

And there’s more. Slow down and enjoy our Yin and Meditation classes or step outside yoga for barre and movement classes. Reconnect with yourself through mind and body. You’ll be better for it, we promise.

  • Dan relocated to Miami from Ohio 8 years ago and has been an important member of the yoga community ever since. When he arrived in Florida he decided to leave the restaurant industry and set out on a mission to heal people through movement. Dan is a Vinyasa enthusiast with a passion for creating longevity through physical discipline. Beyond his ability to sequence, he also take pride in curating playlists deigned to raise your vibrations.

Get out your head and into your body, come practice with me!

  • Having a background in competitive soccer from a young age she learned how practice plays such an important part in cultivating discipline. After years of vigorous training and the constant pressure of having to preform she started to feel confined in all the places that need to be open in order to have peace of mind. Yoga created this new world for her, one that allowed her to finally let go and have the courage to tune into what she needed to feed her soul. "We can be our own best friends or our own worst enemy" it says in the Bhagavad Gita. At 19, she begun practicing yoga which led her to a career as a vinyasa teacher. She is a student of religious texts, with a bachelor degree from NYU. She teaches now to bring to others the same sense of transformation and compassion that yoga delivers her. Her classes are challenging, spontaneous and graceful.

  • Cristina fell in love with Yoga back in 2010.  In 2012, she began practicing more regularly and discovered a way to heal herself through this practice. Whether it is a "heartbreak" or just "life" happening, she understood at some point we all feel broken and need to heal our physical body as much as the mind.

Through her practice and teachings, she hopes to inspire others to try yoga and implement it as a way of living. Her message to the world is "You ARE capable, you ARE strong, you ARE love, you ARE everything you need to be and more. You ARE enough."

Cristina started documenting her Yoga journey on her Instagram page @HighOnYoga in 2014 and has reached more than thousands of people. By sharing her story, she hopes to inspire others to try yoga.

  • Growing up, I always longed for a deeper understanding of myself.  A few profound experiences early in life solidified the awareness that I am more than this physical body and that my thoughts, and feelings have an impact on the world around me.  Growing up on a farm gave me a grounded foundation, but this only led to a desire to jump as high and as far as I could!

After completing a Psychology and then a Business degree, I worked in Management of large international corporations, only to recognize how little satisfaction the corporate ladder generated.  My first Yoga teacher training gave me this deep sense of ‘purpose’ where it was clear that Service to Others is the path of thriving.  I completed a Masters Degree in Adult Education (under the faculty of Philosophy) and a Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, and have been working with Educators and Corporations in Health and Wellness Adult Education since.

Yoga may not be “THE” way to self mastery, but it certainly is “A” way, and I love sharing the impact of this practice with others.  Outside of Yoga, I am a Life Coach, Intuitive Massage Therapist, and Light Worker.  Interested in Energy Influence?  Let’s chat 😉

  • Michelle began her path of yoga many years ago which transpired into teaching in 2007. After a car accident created multiple spinal injuries, and her doctors told her the only option was major surgery, Michelle began looking for alternative treatments. She decided to take the lead in her own healing, and began studying and practicing Iyengar Yoga and Krama Vinyasa Yoga. Now her body is in great health and her mind is steady.

While in India , she studied at the Iyengar Himalayan, Osho Meditation Center & Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. Her thirst for knowledge in the healing arts lead her to Nepal where she had the opportunity to study with Tibetan Monks and the way they integrate sound in their daily meditation practice. While in the Himalayas, she did an apprenticeship with a 5th generation sound shaman in a small village in Annapurna.

Michelle has traveled to 46 countries in the past 20 years and has soaked in the ancient wisdom of many shamanic cultures, eastern practices and yogic traditions. The knowledge she has absorbed shines through in her offerings.

Credentials: yoga certification through the Iyengar Yoga School, primal movement certified, Katmandu Center of Sound Healing certification, Vedic thai-Yoga certification.
